TENATENA

Tena Tena (a sister camp to Nsefu which lies some 7 miles distant) is a small and intimate camp and is situated on a bend of the Luangwa River within the South Luangwa National Park and is widely acclaimed as being one of the best tented safari camps in the whole of Zambia ….perhaps Africa!

OVERVIEW

Accommodation at Tena Tena comprises just five en-suite safari tents (suites really!) which all enjoy a stunning location in a shady grove of mahogany trees in front of a water hole. The tents all feature spacious luxury sleeping arrangements, a veranda, dressing room and large open en-suite facilities.

The guest area at Tena Tena is a large canvas marquee placed between two mahogany trees. The view from the seating area, down the Luangwa River to the distant hills is magnificent. Dinner is served on the platform, under the stars, again with a view of both the river and the waterhole.

Game viewing from Tena Tena is superb with wildlife being abundant and diverse, including some species found only in the South Luangwa Valley. Activities include day and night drives in open top 4×4 safari vehicles, and seasonal boating dependent on water levels, but the region is best known for its walking safaris, which has to be the best way to truly experience Africa.
