OLD MONDORO

Old Mondoro is located in the Lower Zambezi National Park in the south of Zambia and is a small and intimate privately owned safari camp, exuding charm and character. Hidden away amongst acacia trees and overlooking a maze of hippo-inhabited islands, this is perhaps the most beautiful site in the Lower Zambezi National Park and certainly one of the most remote.

Accommodation at Old Mondoro, a sister camp to Chiawa, consists of just four open sided (rolled down at night!) safari tents constructed of canvas and natural materials that gives Old Mondoro an open and adventurous feel, providing a perfect retreat after a day’s game viewing and yet where so much can be seen from the comfort of your own shaded sun deck with comfortable day bed.

At Old Mondoro the game viewing is all about the wildlife, the bush and the river, and an impressive variety of safari activities, from game drives in open top 4×4 safari vehicles to water based activities all backed up by a modern fleet of vehicles and boats. Walking safaris are also offered, led by an award winning team of Africa-born guides.
