Busanga Bush Camp lies in the heart of the Busanga Plains, a vast expanse of grassy seasonal floodplains in the Kafue National Park in central Zambia. The camp is sited close to permanent water and within easy reach of the floodplains which host an abundant variety of wildlife, including some of the best lion sightings in Africa, and a huge variety of birds.
OVERVIEW
Accommodation at Busanga Bush Camp consist of just four well-appointed en-suite tents set in an island of trees which provide shade from the African sun.
The guest area is under canvas and consists of a lounge with bar offering uninterrupted views over the plains; breakfast is often served here to take in the view of herds of lechwe and puku feeding. A little further back is the dining area, shaded by a canopy of a tree but whenever possible meals are served in the open air.
Activities at Busanga Bush Camp include game drives, both day and night, in open top 4×4 safari vehicles and walking safaris, led by qualified and extremely knowledgeable guides. As the plains dry out, this camp is perfectly situated to see large numbers of game such as puku, red lechwe, buffalo and wildebeest, followed by their predators, most notably lion. Cheetah and wild dog are also seen, while a special treat is the resident herd of roan.
Birdlife is abundant with almost 500 species having been identified throughout the year, including endemics such as Chaplin’s Barbet.
