GRUMETI SERENGETI TENTED CAMP

Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp is set in the western corridor of Tanzania’s magnificent Serengeti National Park on the banks of an oxbow, which is formed by an overflow of the Grumeti River. Supporting lush riverine forest, the Grumeti River provides a sharp contrast to the surrounding plains and hosts some of the Serengeti’s more unusual species. The camp is built among tall evergreen trees on the water’s edge. The river is home to families of hippo floating among the carpet of water cabbage, and the birdlife is varied and prolific. The western corridor offers more than just an annual stop-off point for the migration – its colourful topography of hills, rivers and floodplains provides a year round habitat for a wide variety of the Serengeti’s wildlife.

OVERVIEW

Grumeti offers ten flamboyant tents under makuti (palm frond) canopies. Each of the spacious tents has a furnished deck and en-suite bathroom with hand basin, separate shower open to the stars and separate W.C. There is an overhead fan and the local sculptured furnishings and vibrant decor bring alive the excitement and romance of Africa.

A Wildlife enthusiast and photographer’s dream, Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp is a world-class safari destination, home to Africa’s Great Wildebeest Migration. You can enjoy twice-daily game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles, and if the timing is right, you will witness the most unforgettable sight of two million wildebeest and zebra as they trek across the vast Serengeti plains in search of new grass.
