Beho Beho was the first camp to be sited in the Selous and unlike most other camps it is not on the banks of a river, or the flood plains of the mighty Rufiji River, but in the cooler highlands so as to enjoy the cooling breezes from which its name derives. Always designated as a ‘private camp’ it has fiercely protected its individuality and privileged location as one of the most magical places it is possible to visit on safari in eastern Africa.
OVERVIEW
The accommodation at Beho Beho comprises just eight individual ‘bandas’ or stone built, palm-leaf thatched cottages, rather than the tented accommodation one might more readily associate with a camp. The roomy and well equipped bandas are located four either side of the main house and each has their own en-suite bathroom and dressing area as well as private verandas. Think of Beho Beho less as a safari camp but more as a home………. your home for a few days, situated in the heart of the African bush.
The experienced guides will plan your safari programme to fit your needs, whether you would like time to relax and be pampered or are more active and would prefer a long guided and guarded game walk before a bush breakfast or sundowner. All of Beho Beho’s guides are experienced in their own fields, so your guide on any particular activity will have in-depth training and knowledge.
