Diving

Scuba diving is one of the most peaceful activities you will ever experience. You enter an alien world where you become the object of the fishes’ curiousity’; they often come to you to have a look at what you are!

A few days relaxing on the beach after a safari, with its early starts, is an ideal combination and both southern and eastern Africa have a number of superb diving locations for you to experience. The Zanzibari Island off the coast of Tanzania and Mozambique will links well with Botswana. If you want to venture further afield – the Seychelles offer some exclusive beach properties such as North Island.

Many beach lodges have PADI accredited dive operations en-site or within a short drive, where divers of whatever level of qualification are catered for, from a novice diver to a Master Diver. Resort courses are usually offered, to give you a ‘taster’ of what diving is all about, starting in the pool before moving onto a closely supervised (often one-to-one) open water dive.

For those who want to peer into the underwater world, snorkelling is the first step. Then jump in!

We would highly recommend Azura Benguerra in Mozambique and Fundu Lagoon on Pemba .
