Met on arrival into Windhoek and assisted to collect your hire car and drive northwards to the private Ongava Reserve and Little Ongava for a three night stay. Ongava, formerly a series of cattle ranches, is situated just to the south of the Andersson’s Gate of the Etosha National Park and covers an area of over 60,000 acres sharing a border with the Etosha Natioanl Park. The wildlife in Ongava is prolific with especially several prides of lion and a good number of rhino, both black and white. Staying at Little Ongava does not only give you access to the Ongava Reserve bu also to Etosha, a short safari vehicle drive away and home to the Big 5 contained in a vast area of some 22,000 sq kms with a vast and seasonally flooded salt pan at its heart. Apart from the huge diversity of wildlife, the bird life includes eagles, owls and ostriches, whilst large number flamingoes are often seen. Little Ongava is the premier property within Ongava and comprises just three luxuriously appointed suites set high up on ridge line overlooking the reserve. DAY 2 & 3
Activities as arranged by Little Ongava either in the Ongava Reserve or in the Etosha National Park. If in Ongava then night drives can also be offered.
Drive from Ongava to the eastern sector of the Etosha National Park, just eight kilometres from the Von Lindequist Gate, and Villa Mushara for a three night stay. Villa Mushara is the top rated property within the Mushara Collection which also includes Mushara Lodge, Mushara Bush Camp and Mushara Outpost. The property offers guests two luxurious, spacious (130 sq metres) and air-conditioned villas, each individually styled with a small library, well stocked mini-bar and music entertainment system. DAY 5 & 6
Activities as arranged by Villa Mushara in 4×4 safari vehicles into the Etosha National Park with the opportunity to see its 114 mammal and 340 bird species. These include lion. elephant, rhino, eagle and ostrich.
Drive back to Windhoek in time for your onward flight.
N.B. If time permits and you would prefer a more genteel start to your safari, we would recommend an overnight stay in Windhoek, so that you start your journey totally refreshed.
