OVERVIEW

Intimate Botswana is a 9 night, three camp safari itinerary taking in a diverse range of habitats, of wildlife and of game viewing experiences, each in camps that have no more than five tent units – Little Mombo, is one of the most exclusive camps in the Okavango Delta, and Little Tubu only has three rooms! So if you like small, intimate camps and a touch of real luxury to finish, this itinerary is for you.

Your safari starts just a short flight away from Maun in the south of the Okavango Delta at Chitabe Lediba Camp, a stunning land based activity camp overlooking a waterhole, before flying across almost the entire width of the delta to Little Tubu, a mixed activity camp on the isolated Hunda Island overlooking a seasonal floodplain. Your safari finishes at Little Mombo, an opulently furnished, intimate camp located on the northern tip of Chief’s Island, the largest landmass in the delta.

The itinerary is a tailor made safari and can be adapted to suit your requirements.

ITINERARY

Chitabe-Lediba-Botswana-Okavango-family-unit

DAY 1

Met on arrival into Maun, having cleared immigration and customs, with a short scheduled light aircraft transfer to the Chitabe Concession in the south-eastern Okavango Delta and Chitabe Lediba Camp for a three night stay.

DAY 2 & 3

Chitabe Lediba is solely land based game viewing activities with open 4×4 safari vehicles shaded by a top canopy. Being outside the Moremi Game Reserve, Chitabe can offer both day and night game drives. The area around the camp is known for superb sightings of elephants and buffalo as well as regular sightings of wild dog and lion.

DAY 4

Light aircraft transfer from Chitabe Lediba Camp to the isolated Little Tubu on Hunda Island in the Jao Concession of the north-western Okavango Delta.

DAY 5 & 6

Game viewing activities as arranged by Little Tubu, either in 4×4 safari vehicles by day or night and on boating and canoe excursions (water level dependent). There is also a seasonal hide for sleep-outs or game viewing. Signature game in the area includes leopard, hippo, sitatunga and spotted necked otter.

DAY 7

Light aircraft transfer from Little Tubu to the Moremi Game Reserve in the heart of the Okavango Delta towards the northern tip of Chief’s Island and Little Mombo.

DAY 8 & 9

Game viewing activities as arranged by Little Mombo, where the game viewing is both abundant and varied with large prides of lion as well as the other major predators and large herds of plains game, such as red lechwe and zebra, often seen.

DAY 10

Light aircraft flight to Maun in time to connect with your onward international flight – or perhaps an extension to the Kalahari Desert and Jack’s Camp for something totally different?
