Optional add-on full-day trip to explore Cape Town and Table Mountain:
The first stop (weather permitting) is Table Mountain’s Lower Cableway Station, for a 5-minute revolving cable car ride to the top. 1,067 metres above sea level, Table Mountain affords bird’s-eye views of both the city and peninsula, as you explore its summit.
Return to the city via the old Cape Malay Quarter, for a walk through the Company Gardens, a fresh produce garden for ships and locals from the mid-17th Century, and now home to the SA Museum, Houses of Parliament, National Gallery and St George’s Cathedral. Lunch at one of the city’s popular restaurants. Stroll through the city to Greenmarket Square, where you can browse the bustling market stalls for beautiful and unique African mementoes.
From there drive to the Castle, South Africa’s oldest building, with its formidable collection of Old Cape paintings. Take in the nearby Grand Parade, where Nelson Mandela addressed the nation on his release in 1990, and then move on to the District Six Museum, which showcases the colourful life of this legendary area and the forced relocation of its residents during the Apartheid era and round off the day with a visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on the slopes of Table Mountain.
Entrance fees to Table Mountain, the SA Museum, the Castle of Good Hope, the District Six Museum and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are included. Other points of interest are optional and can be included in time permitting.
Optional add-on trip to Robben Island.
You will do a self-guided trip to Robben Island. Your tickets will have been pre-purchased and will be handed to you on your arrival in Cape Town with the time that your trip is booked for, and your pick-up time from the hotel for the transfer to the departure point.
All ferries depart from Nelson Mandela Gateway, at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. Once on the Island, visitors are transported by bus. Transportation costs are included in the Robben Island Tour Price.
DAY 5 – 7
LA RESIDENCE • FRANSCHHOEK
DAY NOTES
Today you’ll enjoy a private transfer to the Cape Winelands where you’ll check in for three nights to La Residence.
During your time at La Residence, you will have access to complimentary transfers in and out of Franschhoek village. You could enjoy the art galleries, shops and motor museum on foot, you do not need a guide to do this. You could also hop on and off the wine tram which runs through this area. The Wine Tram is fun and easy to catch, your concierge will be able to direct you where to catch it.

Optional add-on full-day Winelands tour
Full-Day Winelands Discovery Pass – you will be picked up from the hotel for a full-day tour of the Winelands. There is no fixed itinerary for the day, to allow for full flexibility.
Wine estates visited will vary according to client preferences, but the tour generally includes the region’s major wine-producing areas of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek, and there are chances aplenty en route for tastings of world-renowned reds and whites, as well as Cap Classiques – South Africa’s answer to “Champagne”.
Lunch at one of the many classic, award-winning restaurants in the area (your guide will advise you on the day, depending on where you are at the time). Natural and historic heritage abounds in this area and your tour may take in sights like the Afrikaans Language Monument with its panoramic Boland views, a historic estate with its beautifully preserved Cape Dutch buildings and priceless period furniture, and idyllic Franschhoek, nestled in a valley settled by French Huguenots in 1688.
Franschhoek is a delight for antique lovers and gastronomes (the town boasts some world-famous eateries). Stellenbosch, South Africa’s second-oldest town, provides another glimpse of classic 17th-century Cape style, with a chance to browse quaint Dorp Street and the many museums, galleries and shops of this lovely university town.

Optional add-on full day tour: Hermanus Tour with Whale Cruise
Your guide will advise on which areas to visit and in which order, but in general the tour includes the following routes.
Depart the hotel towards the seaside towns of Strand and Gordon’s Bay, nestled below the slopes of the Hottentots Holland Mountains, with magnificent views across False Bay to Cape Point in the distance. Continue along the spectacular Marine Drive overlooking the rocky coast, past the white beaches of Koeël Bay and the villages of Rooiels, Pringle Bay and Betty’s Bay. Stop at the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens, with its wealth of indigenous Fynbos plants, including the rare Red Disa, for a mountain walk to the waterfall at Disa Kloof.
Drive over the Bot River near Hermanus, pausing in the picturesque Hemel-en-Arde valley whose cool, maritime climate favours the growing of Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay grapes, found at acclaimed wine estates like Bouchard Finlayson, Hamilton Russell and Whalehaven.
Hermanus is known for its abundant sightings of Southern Right Whales, which come in very close to shore to mate and calve (from June to November). There are excellent vantage points from cliff paths that run from one end of the town to the other.
Included is a 2-hour Whale Cruise where patrons explore the coastline on board a purpose-built-catamaran, and gain insight into the region’s marine life from the crew and specialist guide, whilst enjoying the seascapes and the environment of the Cape Whale Coast.
Lunch at a popular seafood restaurant, browse the town’s craft markets, then head to the verdant apple-growing regions of Grabouw and Elgin, with a final stop on the spectacular Sir Lowry’s Mountain Pass for a panoramic view of the Cape Peninsula.

CAPE TOWN CITY TOUR FULL DAY
On a clear day from the summit of Table Mountain you get spectacular views of the City, its Waterfront, Camps Bay, the majestic Hottentots Holland Mountains to the East and the mountains of the Cape Peninsula all the way down to Cape Point to the south.
The Table Mountain cableway, a must for all visitors to the Cape, boasts revolving floors, giving passengers a 360 degree view. After descending the mountain, you will depart on a tour of the “Mother City” taking in Signal Hill – where the Noon Day Gun is fired at midday, every day except Sunday – through the colourful Bo-Kaap or Cape Malay Quarter, past the Grand Parade, City Hall and the Castle of Good Hope and South African Cultural History Museum.
ROBBEN ISLAND FERRY
This is where the ferry for Robben Island leaves from. The ticket office also has a little museum and a curio shop.

notably Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Together they home hundreds
of exceptional farms – making it challenging to know which to visit in a
potentially limited time. One&Only Cape Town’s expert Sommelier Team
lead guests on a bespoke wine tasting experience to remember. Each excursion is done according to personal preferences, with freedom to visit choice wine farms for the ideal day of tasting, interacting with winemakers and learning the unique histories of the farms. It includes
