We often get asked “when is the best time to go on safari?” A simple enough question and the simple answer would be “anytime of the year”, but it’s a little more complex that that and needs to take into account factors such as:
(i) Is this your first safari or where have you been before?
(ii) what would you like to see in the way of wildlife – the migration in East Africa (July – September in the Serengeti or September – November in the Masai Mara) or the Okavango flood-waters of Botswana ( mid-May to mid-September)?;
(iii) are you going elsewhere before or afterwards – such as Cape Town or a beach resort?;
(iv) what type of accommodation you would to stay at; rustic or luxury, tented or lodge – perhaps a mobile safari?
(iv) what is your budget for the trip?
With this information, we can begin to put together some proposals as to where would be ‘best’ for you to take your safari, at which camps and in which order of camps; the ‘flow’ of a safari is an important element to consider.
Once you are totally happy with what we are proposing we will take an option on the accommodation whilst we arrange the flights from your chosen departure airport.
You can be assured though that our arrangements will be seemless and your have the extra comfort of knowing that we are both ATOL and ABTA bonded, so your holiday is financially protected.
