SOSSUSVLEI DESERT LODGE

Accommodation at Sossusvlei Desert Lodges comprises ten spacious stone and glass desert villas, located at the foot of a mountain overlooking an expansive Namib savanna that leads into a sea of hills and red sand dunes of the Namib Desert that stretches for some two hundred and fifty miles. Each suite is air-conditioned and sympathetically furnished to complement the subtle hues of the oldest living desert in the world. Each villa has a private veranda, split level sitting area with fireplace, star-viewing window so you can lay in bed and look up to the skies. The en-suite glass-encased bathroom features both an indoor and outdoor shower. The suites are equipped with personal bar, CD system and a spotting scope.

The main guest area of Sossusvlei Desert Lodge is split-level and is a clever marriage of glass and stone curves with walls of windows maximising the incredible desert-scape and features a dining room, a well stocked wine cellar, main sitting room with bar and terrace, an observatory and an infinity pool.

The staff at Sossusvlei Desert Lodge offer a range of activities from nature drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles on the NamibRand Nature Reserve, to closed air conditioned vehicle excursions to Sossusvlei and the Sesriem Canyon (approximately 7-hour round trip) and guided nature walks. For the more adventurous quad biking excursions are available as well as scenic early morning hot air balloon flights over the desert.
