LITTLE KULALA

Accommodation at Little Kulala comprises eleven climate-controlled, thatched en-suite “kulalas” (the word means ‘to sleep’) which merge sympathetically into the timeless desert landscape. Each kulala offers both indoor and outdoor showers, a sun-deck with a private plunge pool and a rooftop ‘sky-bed’ for gazing at the incredible Namibian night sky or a sleep out for the more adventurous.

The guest area at Little Kulala is elegant and features a library, wine cellar, craft boutique, lounge and dining areas; both indoors and outdoors. Dining under the clear Namibian skies is a must.

Sossusvlei is not a pure wildlife location, it’s more about the immense landscapes and huge skies but desert-adapted wildlife such as ostrich, springbok and gemsbok eke out an existence and are sparsely distributed in the area. Smaller nocturnal creatures such as bat-eared fox and aardwolf can sometimes be seen.

Activities at Little Kulala start with morning guided drives to the spectacular towering dunes of Sossusvlei, through a private gate into the reserve. Other guided drives and walks are also offered on the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve with incredible views, desert-adapted wildlife and plants.

Another option, at an extra cost, is an early morning balloon flight.
