Republic of Congo Safari Lodges

The Congo is underdeveloped as far as tourism is concerned with those camps that it has being set deep in the heart of the rainforests of the Congo Basin – the world’s second largest expanse of tropical rainforest, that cover much of the northern part of the country.

Being located in a delicate eco-system, the camps blend into the environment and are built using natural, locally sourced materials; sustainably harvested timber, bamboo and community woven raffia palm matting, with the architecture of the camps styled on traditional tribal pygmy shelters.

The camps are on raised above the forest floors on wooden decking  giving views of the ‘bai’ (a forest clearing) and into the forest canopy.
