Tented Safari Camps – many of the properties in the national parks are permanent tented camp usually under a thatched roof with en-suite facilities either sited on the ground or on raised decks.
Luxury Safari Lodges – this is the highest level of accommodation in Malawi and comprises elegant and stylish accommodation, superbly designed and luxuriously equipped with both indoor and outdoor facilities and a private deck. Some lodge accommodation has canvas as one of the materials used but they are not really ‘tents’ in the normal use of the word!
Beach Properties – Malawi has a wide range of beach properties from tented eco-camps through to luxury properties. All though have fantastic views over Lake Malawi and offer a wide range of activities.
Hotels – there are a small number of hotel groups that operate within Malawi, offering mid-sized reasonable 3* accommodation at reasonable prices.
