The Wild West safari is a seven night (although it can also be six) itinerary that takes you to two of the remotest national parks in western Tanzania, far from the more well known northern circuit. It can though be easily combined with the world famous Serengeti.
Your safari starts on arrival into Arusha (an overnight is required) where you will be met and transferred by a Nomad Safaris light aircraft to Katavi National Park (via the Serengeti with a refueling stop en route from there) and Chada Katavi for a four night stay. Game viewing in this untouched part of Tanzania is superb with experiences offered on foot and in open topped 4×4 safari vehicles. From Chada Katavi you transfer by light aicraft to Mahale Mountain National Park, where you board a dhow for lunch to sail up Lake Tanganyika to Greystoke Mahale for a three night stay famed for its chimpanzee sightings.
