The Western Lowland Gorilla safari is a 6 night, two camp itinerary with set departure dates visiting the remote interior rain forest national park of Odzala-Kokoua in the heart of the Congo Basin in the Republic of Congo.
Your safari starts in Brazzavile, Republic of Congo, when you are collected for your flight to Lango Camp, nestled in dense forest overlooking the Lango Bai (“forest clearing”) with access to a variety of habitats and wildlife species. From there you transfer by light aircraft to Ngaga Camp, which is set in a glade in the primary rain forest within the home range of several lowland gorilla groups.
The safari operates (with a maximum of 12 and minimum of two guests) every Thursday throughout the year and additionally on every Sunday between May and October.

Light aircraft transfer to M’boko airstrip for your safari transfer to Lango Camp for a three night stay
- Days 2 &3
Wildlife activities as arranged by Lango Camp are a combination of walking and boating with some driving involved to find species such as forest elephant and buffalo as well as primates such as guereza colubus monkeys.
- Days 4
Transfer by light aircraft to Ngaga Camp for a three night stay
- Days 5 & 6
The principal activities at Ngaga Camp revolve around the tracking of the habituated western lowland gorillas, led by skilled local trackers. Birding and night walks are also offered.
- Day 7
Light aircraft transfer back to Brazzaville
N.B. The Western Lowland Gorilla safari also operates in reverse.
Prices are based on two guest sharing double/twin accommodation throughout.
