Diverse Zambia (Silver Plus)
- In Detail
Diverse Zambia is an eight night three location safari itinerary featuring two of Zambia;s most iconic national parks, South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi, with three nights at each of Luangwa River Camp and Chiawa Camp, and finishing with two nights near Victoria Falls at Toka Leya, set with the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park some 15kms upstream of the Falls.
South Luangwa to the east of Lusaka has the well deserved reputation for its diversity and number of wildlife. Being very largely wooded the park is also renown for its leopards who thrive there. The park experiences an incredible range of seasons from the dry season where the wildlife, especially those that live in and around the Luangwa River such as hippo, barely hang on until the rains arrive. When they do the rivers soon burst back into life but moving around the park becomes difficult and many tented camps are struck from November, only returning in April the following year.
The Lower Zambezi National Park is sandwiched between a wooded escarpment and the mighty Zambezi River, opposite Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe. Elephants abound in its mainly wooded environment. Many activities are water based.
Toka Leya, in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Parkm is still close to Victoria Falls, which reaches its peak flow in April/May each year and its nadir in November.
The Diverse Zambia safari starts in Lusaka, Zambia and finishes in Livingstone, Zambia.
