Danforth Lodge is a light and airy lodge situated on the southern shoreline of Lake Malawi at Cape Maclear offering its guests eight en-suite air-conditioned rooms, all opening out onto a large patio with stunning lake views across Lake Malawi to Thumbi West Island, home to many fish eagles. Next to the beach is an infinity swimming pool, whilst moored just off the beach is the lodge’s own luxury catamaran – ‘Mufasa’ – which can sleep four guests in comfort and can be crew chartered for the day, or for longer trips, to explore Lake Malawi’s remote beaches or for a scuba diving expedition.

Danforth Lodge is a family friendly lodge and offers its guests an on-site PADI scuba diving centre, and a range of water sports and activities.

The accommodation basis at Danforth Lodge is “full board” which means three delicious home cooked meals a day plus teas, coffees, cakes and snacks. Using the freshest of ingredients the local and international chefs take pride in presenting a selection of dishes for the buffet table. Al-fresco dining is the order of the day.
