Xugana Island Lodge is situated on a private island in the far reaches of the Moremi Game Reserve in northern Botswana’s Okavango Delta. The lodge is (unsurprisingly) set on an island and overlooks the Xugana Lagoon, a permanent water feature.
Xugana offers just eight luxury rooms and its luxurious décor is themed around the safaris of yesteryear with contemporary touches. The secluded reed and thatch chalets are raised high above the ground on teak platforms, and feature en-suite facilities and private viewing decks. Xugana Island Lodge is a small and exclusive lodge; an inviting getaway in an incredible water wilderness.
Morning and afternoon game-viewing activities are conducted by experienced guides and include exploring the crystal clear waters of the Okavango Delta by mokoro, a traditional dugout canoe. Guests can also track the larger game species on guided nature walks on the many surrounding islands and enjoy the Okavango Delta’s kaleidoscope of birdlife. Other activities include seasonal fishing for bream and tiger fish, and sun-downers on the motorboat.
