Camp Xakanaxa is situated on banks of the Khwai River, overlooking the Xakanaxa Lagoon in south-eastern sector of the Moremi Game Reserve of northern Botswana’s Okavango Delta. Here the waters of the delta meet the vast plains of the Kalahari Desert into which the waters drain and has created a patchwork of mopane woodland, open grasslands, seasonal floodplains and riverine habitats. It is one of the most diverse areas in the Okavango Delta.
The camp comprises spacious and tastefully decorated en-suite tents, all on raised viewing decks allowing for views over the delta, with twin or double beds.
The main guest area is shaded and consists of a thatched dining room, a comfortable lounge with a bar area and a safari shop. Outside is a fire deck and a plunge pool in which to relax in the heart of the day, both with magnificent views.
The varied habitats around Xakanaxa results in some incredibly diverse game viewing as well as a range of ways in which to experience the region, from game drives in open top 4×4 safari vehicles, genteel excursion in a mokoro (dug-out canoe) and guided walks.
