Kings Pool Camp overlooks the Linyanti River and the Kings Pool Lagoon in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, a vast private concession in the northern part of Botswana, bordering the western edge of Chobe National Park. The accommodation at Kings Pool is luxurious, the wildlife viewing superb.
Kings Pool Camp comprises just nine luxurious canvas tents each under a thatched roof, consisting of a large en-suite bedroom area, lounge, plunge pool and ‘sala’. The bathrooms have double showers and hand-basins – as well as an outdoor shower for that ‘back to nature’ feeling. The public guest areas consists of a lounge, dining room and bar – all on raised decks to allow the wildlife to transit the camp. There is also a communal pool and an open-air ‘kgotla’ for dining under the stars.
The Linyanti has an abundant variety of wildlife, but is particularly known for its very large elephant population which can reach enormous numbers during the dry months. Other game includes impala, lechwe, kudu, zebra, giraffe, buffalo, and their associated predators.
Guests at Kings Pool can watch elephants at the water’s edge from the comfort of the raised decks, whilst spectacular game viewing is available on day & night game drives and walks. The camp also has two hides; one of which is underground next to a water hole, where elephants walk by almost within touching distance. Water level dependent, seasonal cruises along the Linyanti River are also offered. The reed and papyrus swamps are ideal for numerous and diverse species of birds and attract game from June to October.
