DumaTau Camp is a luxury tented camp located in the vast Linyanti Wildlife Reserve on the western boundary of Chobe National Park in northern Botswana. It is situated close to the source of the Savute Channel and on one of the many lagoons in the area. The camp is cleverly sited between two wildlife corridors resulting in excellent game viewing.
DumaTau Camp (which was recently re-sited and rebuilt), is raised off the ground to take advantage of the sweeping and dramatic views. Each canvas tent is en-suite and spacious with a wrap-around full height glazing that allows guests to experience the dramatic sights and sounds of Africa. The main guest area is airy and expansive with a dining and lounge area overlooking the lagoon.
The Linyanti has an abundant variety of wildlife, but is particularly known for its very large elephant population which can reach enormous numbers during the dry winter months. Other game includes impala, lechwe, kudu, zebra, giraffe, buffalo, and their associated predators.
There is a wide variety of game viewing at DumaTau Camp with day and night game drives the main source of activities. Short escorted nature walks can also be taken along the Linyanti River and Savute Channel, while the camp’s barge takes visitors (when water levels permit), along the waters of the Linyanti. There are also a number of platforms and hides from which to view and photograph the flora and fauna. One of the best hides at Duma Tau is located at the source of the Savute, perfect for game and birdlife.
