Muchenje Safari Lodge enjoys a beautiful position on the western side Botswana’s Chobe National Park, perched on an escarpment looking down across the Chobe River, and Namibia’s Caprivi Strip with its seasonal flood plains. Muchenje Safari Lodge’s location is far away from the busier eastern Chobe National Park nearer to Kasane which allows guests enjoy extensive game drives part of the park that has a lower number of visitors. Muchenje also benefits from being in the Chobe Forest Reserve, which means that game walks and night drives are also available adding greatly to the whole safari experience.
Muchenje consists of eleven thatched safari bungalows, each beautifully appointed with a ceiling fan, wardrobe, safe, writing table and a private, shaded veranda, from which to take in the ambience of your surroundings. The main lodge area is extensive, and has been built to allow for excellent views and is a comfortable place to relax after a game drive. The swimming pool, complete with deck and more excellent views is located close-by and is a great place to relax.
Chobe is famous for its large herds of elephant and buffalo, along with numerous predators especially lions, leopards and the more rare to see, wild dogs. There is a great diversity of plains game and a birding is excellent. The Chobe National Park in general and Muchenje in particular offers excellent game viewing.
