NXABEGA

Nxabega (meaning ‘place of the giraffe’) Okavango Tented Camp is situated in a private concession of almost 20,000 acres of mixed savanna and waterways on the south-east boundary of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve in the Okavango region of northern Botswana. The Okavango is known for its crystal clear waterways, verdant islands and abundant wildlife. Nxabega combines a remote, luxurious and exclusive safari experience, hidden away within the Okavango, with the simplicity of a small tented camp.

OVERVIEW

Nxabega comprises just nine tented en-suite rooms each with a private deck to the front allowing for relaxed game viewing with a coffee (or G&T) in hand. The main guest area consists of a thatched lounge and dining area, although weather permitting meals are taken outside under the African night-sky. There is also a swimming pool in which to cool down during the heat of the day and a safari shop.

The wildlife and birding in this part of the Okavango is superb with the area particularly known for giraffe, lion and hyena. Game viewing at Nxabega is a mix of land based activities in open top 4×4 safari vehicles and water based in mokoros (a dug-out canoe).
