MAPULA LODGE

Mapula Lodge is in a concession north of Vumbura in a quiet section of the famous Okavango Delta.

The lodge is very involved with the local community and has recently helped introduce the Elephant Express a local bus service giving children a safe ride to school in an area well known for its elephant herds.

OVERVIEW

Mapula Lodge is open year round and offers both land and water based activities. It is located in one of the few areas in the Delta with a constant water flow.

Not many areas of this special region of Botswana are so quiet. It’s location means you get a real sense of tranquility as you explore the area and get a chance to enjoy some of the diverse range of wildlife at a leisurely pace.

Accommodation

Under the shade of trees and spaced for privacy are the 9 canvas and thatch cottages, including 1 family cottage. All cottages are comfortably furnished and ensuite with an indoor and outdoor shower and a private verandah

Facilities

The large main area in camp has a comfy seating area, small library and dining area. There is also a pool and a highlight is the sunken deck area called the chill pit, the perfect spot to relax and look over the lagoon.

Activities

Game drives, boating and Mekoro activities are available although there may be some restrictions on water activities during low water season. Hot air balloon and helicopter trips are possible for an extra charge.
