ZARAFA

The camp itself exudes an ambience of turn of the 20th century old world charm and style with each just four large, luxuriously appointed double or twin ‘marquis style’ tents hosting a maximum of eight guests. At Zarafa Camp the focus is very much on offering a highly personalised and private experience to guests – ideal for guests seeking an intimate experience. The camp can be booked for exclusive use.

The tents at Zarafa Camp are positioned in the shade with superb views from their verandas of the Zibadianja Lagoon. A large bedroom with en-suite bathroom, featuring a copper bath as well as both indoor and outdoor showers, completes the experience.

The main guest area is furnished in the same elegant style as the tents and again exudes the “Out of Africa” feel. Lounge and dining facilities are enjoyed under canvas or on the full-length shaded deck.

Activities at Zarafa Camp are flexible and are organised to suit the interests of the guests with morning, afternoon and night game drives with experienced professional guides in comfortably equipped 4×4’s. Guided nature walks (not hikes) from camp introduce guests to some of Africa’s smaller fauna and flora. Following a game drive, guests can relax around the pool or enjoy a massage.

Zarafa Camp boasts all of the wildlife found in the nearby Chobe National Park, with a huge variety of both birdlife (over 300 species) and animals. The plains game here is abundant including lechwe, kudu, buffalo, zebra and giraffe. The Linyanti is also a predator-rich region including cheetah, wild dog, lion, and leopard. At certain times of the year, typically the dry winter months, massive herds of elephant can be seen.
